MARION #1109 (July, 1985) Having created a statue in honor of our computer genius, Al Rorie, we wanted to honor the man who gave us Al! Marion Rorie is Al's father and a man of farming skills and rural virtues. He is depicted wearing his customary overalls and pausing in the middle of a daily chore. He has been chopping wood and the job is only half done. Besides mopping his neck with his handkerchief, he is probably pausing to reflect on the beauty of a well-tended farm. He might also be looking to see if his children (whose names are carved into the wood) are completing their tasks as well. VARIATION: Usually has names imprinted on the logs. Rarer editions have no names on the logs. MARION may be misspelled.
